Become a Match A Friend!

Autism Unites is seeking candidates to become Match A Friends for some amazing young men & women with autism.

Match A Friends are paired to a young adults with autism based on compatible personalities and common interests. We anticipate a wide spectrum of interests for our students so we will be seeking candidates with a wide variety of skills and talents.  The top qualities of our Match A Friends is their upbeat, positive personalities, kind hearts, and caring natures.

The Match A Friend role is a great fit for a college student that is living or attending school in the West Los Angeles area. Autism Unites will be launching a residential program in downtown Santa Monica & in Culver City. We’ll currently searching for live-in Match A Friend candidates that will reside with our students and receive room & board and stipends in exchange for providing one-on-one supports in home, vocational, and community-based settings.  We are launching several employment programs including a professional tour guide training program based in historic downtown Culver City and a 4 week career-connection workshop, and will need Match A Friends for every student enrolled in our program.

Match A Friends provide side by side support to facilitate problem solving, stress management, and positive social connections in authentic residential, vocational, and community-based settings. The trust developed between the pair creates a space where both feel safe, supported, and accepted. Within this nurturing environment, both the Match A Friend and young adult are motivated to become productive citizens of their communities.
